Welcome Wagon / Newbie here

Keeping a food diary seems like a lot of work but can help tremendously in keeping you on track.  I use an app called myfitnesspal which allows you to track your calories.  Keeps track of what you eat, your water intake and exercise.  It has a scanning feature which is really cool.  I find the interface with friends is easier than Skimble and having an accountability partner helps.  There are 3500 calories in a pound.  To lose one pound a week you need to burn 500 calories more a day than your BMR.  You can calculate your BMR with myfitnesspal.  It requires your age, weight and your activity level.  Hope this helps.  If you join myfitnesspal you can friend request me at [email protected].  Welcome and good luck!

Weight Loss / New to skimble. Workout partner?

Hi, I would recommend you also use myfitnesspal.  It is a smartphone app but also online at myfitnesspal.com, it helps you manage and track you exercise and diet.  I'm jim4sparks on their if you join and want additional support.  I wish this app worked in sync with that one.

Motivation & Support / Best workouts?

Jenni, I find that about 80% of weight loss comes from the quality and quantity of food you eat and 20% comes from exercising.  Starving is not the answer but watching what you eat helps.  Many people keep a food log.  There is an app called myfitnesspal that is awesome.  It tracks your food intake and your exercises so you can manage your calories.  I still use that app.  This app keeps me focused on my exercising.  Good luck.
