So why listen or even take advice from a commercial driver/personal trainer? I've always been obese. I've never felt fat because everyone in my family was the same way... it normal way of life to me. OK fast forward to what got me into a healthier lifestyle. . In March 2011, I got my CDL and joined the trucking industry! In 18 months of being a OTR (over-the-road) driver I went from 268lbs. to 340lbs! In that time my health went down hill, elevated blood sugar, high blood pressure, obstructive sleep apnea, etc... And seeing morbid chronic obese on my medical evaluation really didn't help. Time for change a lifestyle change and I did..After dropping over 120lbs, I had a drastic improvement in my overall health. I may not be at the so called ideal weight for my height but I know my health is even better than it was in high school and that was in the early 90's! I've experienced what poor lifestyle choices can do to a person's physical and mental health and how fitness and nutrition can dramatically improve overall health. In the U.S. there are 7 million truck drivers, with 7 out of 10 being classified as obese, and 3 out of 4 suffering from chronic health diseases. Every day drivers are forced off the road due to poor health, and that needs to change. This is my focus, this is my goal - to work with truckers in helping them to stay in a difficult demanding career that takes a toll on a person's health. If I can make changes in the most unhealthy, sedentary occupations in the world, then I believe I can help others.
